Job description

We have a vacancy for a vibrant, driven and well-presented account manager with great sales and interpersonal skills to represent the company. The successful incumbent will have full accountability to strategically generate sales from a portfolio of accounts in accordance with agreed targets, whilst developing and maintaining relationships with these accounts to grow total target set out.

Key responsibilities 

  • Present, negotiate and sell strategically to achieve sales targets
  • Build and maintain winning client relationships through effective verbal and written communication
  • Campaign administration of proposals and contracts
  • Campaign implementation, management and feedback to clients
  • Product/industry knowledge

 

Requirements

  • Education: minimum matric (English/maths a must) – or experience requirement is met, a tertiary diploma or degree in marketing would be advantageous
  • Experience: minimum of five years’ sales experience/account management, experience in dealing with clients at a management level, evidence of being able to effectively prioritise and meet tough deadlines, experience in working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge: an understanding of how to set up and run an account/client, how to report back to our clients on Excel, PowerPoint and Word, knowledge and understanding of FMCG industry, brand marketing, retail/merchandising, social media, background in advertising, marketing and activations essential, good geographical knowledge of South Africa
  • Computer literate on MS Office – intermediate
  • Valid drivers licence and own vehicle
